One of my goals for my Sinful Saturday posts was to host my fellow erotic romance author friends. My other goal was to host blogger/book reviewers that I have met during this remarkable journey of writing. I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for other authors who have reached out and given me guidance. What shocked me though was the incredible support and enthusiasm of bloggers and book reviewers. I had been given advice that when you decide to publish, you have to be able to take criticism. I was told that reviewers can be brutal. I sent off my book and steeled myself waiting for the onslaught. Instead I found women that have cheered me on and inspired me to keep going. There are a few ladies that have rocked my world. I want to make it a priority to draw attention to their blogs.
I have to start with Tina from Riverina romantics blog. There isn’t enough room on this blog for me to say how much I admire Tina. So, I’ll say it in as few words as I can. I have a huge lady crush on Tina! Literally, I love her. Read on to hear more about this special lady….
Hey there! My name is Tina and I am addicted to reading (wait this isn’t that kind of meeting, is it?). I have 2 great kids that keep me way too busy and a husband that I absolutely adore (most days. Some days I plot new and interesting ways to strangle him in his sleep..lol). In my real life, I am a medical receptionist in oncology. I am fortunate to work with the best bunch of girls and can’t imagine ever working without them. In a field filled with so much sadness we laugh and laugh a lot!
Why did you decide to become a blogger/reviewer?
I’ve always been a big reader. It’s my escape. When you deal with the tough situations everyday like I do you need to escape into a happily ever after world and you wonderful writers allow me to do this (Thank you). I read so much that it was beginning to get tough remembering what characters and plots belonged to what books, so I decided to start reviewing every book I read and then it all snowballed from there. I hooked up with the wonderful women of Riverina Romantics and, as they say, the rest is history.
What is your favorite part of blogging?
Meeting all the wonderful and crazy people that love books as much as I do is definitely my favorite part. Honestly, when asked if I wanted to contribute to the Riverina Romantics blog I thought “great free books”. It never once occurred to me that I would make so many new friends. I now have a couple of authors who I am lucky enough to call my friend, as well as other reviewers and book lovers like myself. Who would’ve thought that authors are actually normal people who would want to be my friend? Luckiest girl in the world, I know!
What do you dislike the most about blogging?
Not being able to read and review every request that comes in. I hate when a book looks so good, but I just know that I will never be able to get to it in time to do right by the writer.
What is the name of your blog and why did you choose that particular name?
Riverina Romantics. Actually, this blog was started by a couple of other wonderful women who were nice enough to invite me into their wild and crazy group.
Who are your favorite authors?
This is such a hard question because I have so many. For sure, Eden Summers, Kate Baum and Bianca Sarble (these women are as sweet as they are wonderful, amazing authors). Kristen Ashley and Lorelei James couldn’t write a bad story if they tried and Jeaniene Frost writes scorching hot vampires like no one else can. There are so many others!
What are your favorite genres to read?
Contemporary Romance, but I’ll read anything. Lately, I’ve been all about the cowboys and bikers. But, really any hot, alpha male that is well written does it for me. I do love sarcastic wit in a book. It really makes the story that much better. Of course, sarcasm is my first language, so that may have something to do with it.
