I am honored to welcome a facebook friend who is also part of an incredible author group I’m in, Tammy Dennings Maggy. Tammy has a new release out. I can’t wait to share all the exciting news with you all! Kate
Please tell us about your current release.
I’m in the editing phases of the third book in my Now and Forever series right now so I’d like feature the second book today to get folks ready for the next one to come out. The Island (Now and Forever 3) actually takes place at the same time as the third book, but is from different characters’ points of view. Here’s the blurb
After losing her brother in a fatal motorcycle accident, Quinn Quartermarsh’s life spins out of control. Shutting herself off from friends and family in Michigan, she buries herself in her work, wishing for the pain to end. In her dreams she’s finally able to find the peace her heart craves on The Island. Driven to recklessness over a heartbreaking betrayal, Jacob Hartley races his motorcycle on a rain-slick California freeway. Near death in the hospital, he’s given a choice. Stay on The Island or go back for a second chance at love. Destined to be together, but repeatedly torn apart, these two lost and melancholy people draw the attention of the Goddess Fate. As Quinn’s and Jacob’s lives hang in limbo, the soul mates are given a very special gift from the Gods, and the chance to finally have their love of a lifetime.
How did you come up with the idea for your book?
The entire series came to be because of what was going on in my own life four years ago. I was stuck in a marriage without passion, to a person who’d rather play video games then spend time with me. Having to be the parent as well as spouse to another adult got very trying at times to say the least. To escape my real life, I turned within and pulled bits and pieces of my own life and turned them into fantasy…a what if scenario if you will.
I’m a veterinarian in real life and actually travel to Vegas for the big veterinary conference I talk about in the books. I’ve stayed in the casinos and experienced the night life my characters experienced. As for whether or not I have a Vegas tycoon in my past…I’ll keep that secret just a bit longer. LOL!
Can you tell us about the journey that led you to write your book?
Letting the characters find themselves and each other through all the pain they had to go through was my way of getting through my own emotional upheaval and life journey. The pain they all go through, I’ve felt first hand. The good, bad, an ugly from my own life and some of my loved ones is out there for all to see.
I’ve gone through weight issues, heartbreaking infertility, loss of a parent, divorce, giving up my career to start again in another state and ultimately finding my own Knight in Shining Armor and happily ever after.
What was the hardest part of writing your book?
Finishing it and letting go. I submitted the first two to a publisher so there was the fear they wouldn’t like what I’d written. Now that I’ve moved on to publishing on my own, the hard part will still be finishing it and sending it off to one of my editors.
What would you say in your most interesting writing quirk?
I don’t work on one project at a time. I have multiple paper notebooks I carry with me at all times so I can work on whatever scene pops in my head. That can range from erotica to sweet romance to my poetry. I write under three different pen names and the characters are all fighting to be heard.
Do you have plans for any subsequent books?
Yes. The Now and Forever series will be at least 8 books, maybe 9. I may include one or two more to bring it to a total of 10, but that’s still up in the air. There are a couple of secondary characters who keep popping up in my mind wishing to have their stories told. We’ll see.
Please tell us your latest news
The latest news is that I’m moving forward with my own publishing house Sassy Vixen Publishing. Up until recently, it’s been in the works and plans were to launch it with another series. With the new venue that opened up with the Now and Forever series, I get to live my dream even sooner than expected. Look for The Surrender of Julia (Now and Forever 3) to be released in the next couple months.
Do you have any specific that you want to say to your readers?
I’m excited about this new venture and the fact that I can take these characters down the paths they want to go. This includes characters that have darker personalities, more LGBT relationships and maybe even a ménage or two. The Now and Forever family and friends have a lot of stories to tell and I hope the readers enjoy them as much as I do.
Tammy Dennings Maggy is a multi-published poet and erotic romance author with Siren and Sassy Vixen Publishing. Her writing explores many facets of romance from ultimate betrayal to finding your soul mate. Her poetry serves as a companion to her novels and has inspired entire series all on their own. Tammy and her alter egos Lia Michaels and Stephanie Ryan make up the core authors at Sassy Vixen Publishing and together they’ve created the shared world series Temptations Resort. Look for the first books in that series to come out later this year.
Now happily married to her own Muse and soul mate, she continues to live her dream and act as secretary to all her characters demanding to have their stories told
